Most of my friends and of course my family know I am a computer geek and every now and then they ask me questions on buying their next laptop or PC. Quite often they come with an idea of their forthcoming purchase in mind, having a straightforward inquiry, e.g. “Are ASUS laptops good, ’cause I like the price and the specs of the ASUS brand laptops?“.
Interestingly enough I actually like the Asus brand (the laptop I am using right now is a Zenbook UX31 that was rocket science at the time the model was launched). A decade ago, if you ask a processional for his opinion on Asus laptops, they will try to talk you out of this “ridiculous” idea. They would quote the many problems they’ve met in their practice, such as poor build quality, poor quality of the material, improper fan position, overheating, etc.
But it was a decade ago.
